Yeay! Blog is up & running again! Thanks LisaDragon for finally fixing the problem with out server hehehe.
These days, I’ve been busy studying for exams (which are coming up in another 2-1/2 weeks .. ahhhh!). Its a little crazy at the monent ’cause work is also getting crazy (everyone wants my time as I will be on such a long break in Dec) and exams are 2 weeks before my wedding. In between I’ve been struggling to also do wedding errands. Yes I know - I am “MAD”.
Other things that have happened? Just got back from my ‘wild’ Hen nite! It was great! I decked everyone in tiaras & masks (what? You know I like costumes :P) . We had “games” & went partying … the usual! I also got to spend time with Julz & we haven’t properly catched up in AGES. Heheheh … overall, I think we all had too much fun, most of the ladies (including myself) came back home either sick or exhausted! Thank you so so so much to my Lovely Ladies for coming down with me … hope you had as much as a fab time as I did. Remember our oath!! Also a special thank-you to for Phoenix Lancerorganising this - the best ever party planner (plus he can get you the hottest species ever!)! My Dearest Darlings … I love you all!
Any hoo … I’ve finally managed to get the Forever Edition of Chris Brown’s Latest CD and I love it! I posted the ‘ Forever’ video previously … and now I leave you with “Superhuman”. This song is so powerful - it speaks on how Love can bring out the best in people such that they feel ‘Superhuman’. My fave line in this song: “A super human heart beats in me.” I LOVE the way he looks at Keri … makes me blush! He even does the “chest lift” move that Bi Rain does (I bet you he learnt that from Him personally Hehhehe). Ok the video is rather dramatic (explosions and all) … but it goes with the theme of the song. Two words: Absolutely Heartfelt!

Enjoy!

Chris Brown’s “Superhuman”
Weak
I have been crying and crying for weeks
How’d I survive when I can barely speak
Barely eat, On my knees
But that’s the moment u came to me
I don’t know what your love has done to me
Think I’m invincible
I see though the me I used to be
You changed my whole life
Don’t know what your doing to me with your love
I’m feeling all super human, you did that to me
A super human heart beats in me
Nothing can stop me here with you
Super human (I feel so superhuman X2)
Super human
Strong
Since I’ve been flying and righting the wrongs
Feels almost like I’ve had it all along
And I can see tomorrow
Where every problem is gone because
I flew everywhere with love inside of me
It’s unbelievable to see how love can set me free
You changed my whole life
Don’t know what your doing to me with your love
I’m feeling all super human, you did that to me
A super human heart beats in me
Nothing can stop me here with you
Super human (I feel so superhuman X2)
Super human
It’s not a bird, not a plane
It’s my heart and it’s going, gone away
My only weakness is you
Only reason is you
Every minute with you
I can feel like I can do anything
Going going, I’m gone away in love
You changed my whole life
Don’t know what your doing to me with your love
I’m feeling all super human, you did that to me
A super human heart beats in me
Nothing can stop me here with you
Super human
Super human
Wu Chun & Charlene Choi were recently on our humble “Abode of Peace” promoting their new movie Butterfly Lovers. I haven’t had a chance to see the movie per se but it is really nice to see our very own Bruneian-bred Wu Chun back home to help promote this movie & bring in some more interest into Brunei!
(Pictures taken from Ranoadidas.com - and yes this is in our very own cineplex in “The Mall”!)
OK I must admit … I kinda know the guy (let me stress on the word ‘kinda’). He’s one of my best friend’s cousins (and yes yes I do use that line alot to impress ppl at the HK DVD places I go to :P heheheh love you Godiva! Jgn marah yeh … ) so I’ve always sorta known him when I was growing up. He was always striking to look at (and tall .. me likes :D!) but also a bit more buff. Don’t get me wrong, although he’s much slimmer now, he’s still good to look (*loves the hair*)! And he’s oh so popular here cause he’s one of Brunei’s own … not only is he a bandmember in the band ‘Fahrenheit’, but he also acts in Taiwanese dramas & movies, has his own gym in Brunei (which yes I am a member of … what?! I like the classes :P) and does LOADS of advertisement endorsements. And despite his superstar status, he still makes time to come back to his home country to either visit family/friends (i occasionally run into him in random places - restaurants, entering the mall etc, either looking flabbergasted or really embarrased. The effect these stars have one me … ) or to help promote the good of Brunei. Thats what I really admire about him the best
Here is a clipping I found on You-Tube of their trip to Brunei. I wish I could understand it (don’t speak cantonese!) but nevertheless I was still so “sakai” (thats Malay for ‘couldn’t help staring’) ’cause you can see our very own Brunei Airport & Empire Hotel - and this was shown on national TV in Taiwan/HK! When Charlene Choi arrived, she got the traditional Bruneian hadrah welcoming … awww blesss :). It was also nice how she tried speaking Malay (the only part of the clip that I do understand :P), hope that was Wu Chun’s influence!
Welcome to Brunei Charlene … and to Wu Chun, Welcome back home &
(’Terima Kasih’ in Malay or Thank-you)! Hmmmm I wonder if Mafioso wants to catch this with me at the cinema …. watch this space for movie review!
Blame the Compilation CD thats been sitting my my CD player in the car … I haven’t changed it cause I haven’t had the time to get a new one with more of the latest songs. Or is it because after 4 weeks, I’m STILL hooked on that Chris Brown song “Forever”? Hmmm ….
I love the music video! Ok its a little cheesy - you know she (literally) falls (off a building no doubt) and he catches her (as per his lyrics of the song) *awww blesss*. But I do love the timing of how the water comes out of the fountain … gave me goosebumps! You have to give it to him, you can’t help but stare at how cool the dances are or how the lyrics are so catchy (eventhough the song is kinda sung flat …he cheats using that synthesizer thing with his voice - nontheless very very good still). Otherwise the cheeky smile will get you … *What?!*
Speaking of dancing, the best line in this song? “All you gotta do is watch me, Look what I can do with my feet ….” Hehehhe. Yes, he reminds us of what he’s famous for … as if we don’t know that he can really get jiggy with it already.
I must say I really enjoyed this album! Its much like his previous one as its filled with addictive beats & unique lyrics, only this album is much better! I haven’t bought the latest version of his second album (called the “Forever” Edition) <— hence you can understand why I’m so stuck on this song!!! *Grrr*. Plus the boy is rather good looking … who wouldn’t want to give him a “Kiss Kiss”. Lucky Rihanna!
I leave you with 3 videos … for when u feel the need to dance or when you feel in the mood for romance. The other is a commercial based on the forever commercial … pretty damn creative! Notice that in his original video, he takes out chewing gum as soon as he gets out of the car … ahhh lightbulb moment eh? hahah!

I know I know … its been like 3 months since my last post … but I’ve been pretty busy & its been pretty hectic!
What have I been up to? Well … to break it down briefly, I attended my younger sis’s graduation (Congrats Bets!), my Best Friend’s Wedding (Congrats Celebrations & Cadbury!), Kakak’s Wedding (Congrats Kak!), attended other ppl’s weddings (Congratulations to you all too!), been thru Fasting month, been promoted at work (Congrats Me!) and in between been busy socialising, catching up with old friends in UK & Paris, been busy planning Wedding stuff (trips to KL & Indon *sigh*), trying to lose weight & keep fit (*double sigh*) and now its Hari Raya! See? Told you I’ve been busy. But to make up for neglecting this blog for like 3 months, I’ll post some pics and explain more in my next entry
In the meantime … Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to you all!
I love this Hari Raya song … its my fave from Annuar Zain (when he was much younger) & Ellina! Sing along to it if you want ehehhe.
Enjoy!

Hari Raya Aidilfitri
Pemergian Ramadhan Ditangisi
Bulan Penuh Berkah Lagi Dirahmati
Semoga Ramadhan Jumpa Lagi
Kerana Usia Di Tangan Ilahi
Datangnya Syawal Tanda Kemenangan
Sebulan Berpuasa Menahan Cubaan
Sambut Raya Dengan Kemaafan
Moga Bergembira di Hari Lebaran
Selamat Menyambut Hari Raya Aidilfitri
Maaf di atas segala tutur kata mahupun perbuatan
Sama ada sengaja atau tidak
Antara kita tiada yang sempurna
Salah dan silap adat manusia
Marilah bermaafan sesama kita .
Kepada yang memandu pulang ke kampung berhati-hati, maut jangan dicari .
Sesal di saat itu tiada gunanya tatkala kematian menjemput kita .
Pandu cermat, biar berhemat, janji selamat.
My name rhymes! Hmmmm so i guess this means that I am surrounded with good fortune (as I’m assuming that the well is a wishing well) … and I do it my way eh? Unless ‘Ayumu’ indicates that I’m stubborn. That must mean this is accurate. *shrugs*
Hmmmm ‘Seaside field’ <– um? Guess that would explain why he likes the beach & the sound of running water. ‘Kind gentleman’ <– now that really says it all ’cause I completely agree!! Hahaha!!
Have fun trying this!
Cheers!

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.” William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet.
Today marks the second blood donation drive this year in our Shellie Office - there are normally two blood donation drives each year. I try and do my part by participating in both and am even registered in the hospital as a regular donor. Apparently, eventhough my blood is AB+, its still very useful as doctors & nurses prefer to give the same type of blood type to any patient requiring it. AB+ is also very rare in the population (3% - 4%) so u can imagine how big their list of donors are!
Many people require blood, whether its used for planned operations, in an emergency or for people suffering conditions which require regular blood transfusions such as thalassaemia, leukaemia and those undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, they all need closely matched blood. If they have a rarer group, there is always a struggle to get a perfect match for them.
I got into donating blood when I was still studying in the UK - I was working as a waitress that was catering for this big blood donation drive … and for fun me and a few friends thought we’d give it a go after work ended. Till today I am so glad I did it … because my blood ended up being required for a little ten year old girl dying of leukaemia . I made 2 other donations afterwards - I was told by the nurse that my blood was really healthy because it had a lot of platelets which really helped the patient. I never got to meet the little girl but as I understand it before I left UK, she was still alive and doing well thanks to my donations & donations from 2 other unknown donors.
Here are some other cool information about blood:-
Blood comes in four main types - O, A, B and AB. Group O is the most common which means it’s in demand the most. But blood can also be subdivided into its main components - red cells, white cells, platelets and plasma. Unfortunately red cells only last 35 days and platelets are only good for five days. That’s why hospitals are always after blood.
It’s a given fact that people in different countries are, well, different. Languages, attitudes, eating habits, that sort of thing. Well, the same holds for their blood groups and distribution too. Almost all South American Indians are group O, while about 25% of Asians are group B. Only about 9% of Caucasians have that particular group. And should you find yourself in Norway requiring a blood transfusion, let’s hope it’s group A you need, because that’s what they’ve got the most of up in that part of the world.
Blood groups have other uses too. Anthropologists can do their stuff, tracking the movement of ancient peoples and tribes by studying the difference in blood groups. For example, they’ve discovered that gypsies have a very similar blood distribution to the natives of North West India. Linguists already think the two were connected. The blood evidence confirms it.
“Not all virgins are angels … and not all angels are virgins.”
Thats the opening quote for the movie which already gives you an idea about the great humour and creative wit that surrounds this love-comedy . Its based on a book by Giovanni Boccaccio, directed by David Leland and a has good cast ensemble staring Hayden Christensen as Lorenzo Di Lamberti, Mischa Barton as Pampinea Anastagi and Tim Roth as Gerbino De La Ratta as well as guest apperances by Rupert Friend and David Williams (from Little Britain!). Despite the fact that the two main actors (Hayden & Mischa) have played similar roles before in previous movies/tv series (hence, a little predictable), you’d still be drawn to the obvious chemistry between them and their tale really does touch the soul. Hayden is his usual hot self (& more enigmatic in person - I’ve met him backstage at a play once. Long story!) and Mischa can even do the english accent quite well. The kisses are absolutely beautiful (as are the dresses - all done by Roberto Cavalli !!!).
The film also plays on the theme of ‘virginity’, perceptions on ‘(holy) religion’ & marriage and also boasts vivid scenes that you may have never seen before … like the one with the ‘cow’. Its such a good movie - Phoenix, Insane Iz & Mafioso enjoyed it too (I brought it over to Phoenix’s place last sat) ! There are so many sexual innuendos & double meanings … I absolutely love flamboyang use of descriptive languages like ‘venus’ & ‘jupiter’. Filmed in Italy, the movie is very picturesque and accurate to how 14th Century Italy would actually look like. I love this description of the movie - a “rousing period film offers a unique mix of old world aesthetics and contemporary sensibilities.”
Maybe I like it so much ’cause the movie is so ‘Shakespearean’ … hehehe!
Sword-fighting, romance, jealousy, comedy, clever scripting, unique one-liners, good kisses … this movie gets 4 & 1/2 (out of 5) from me
Enjoy!

“Everyday I see you and as I sleep at night I know I am drawn to you … everyday and everynite” Pampinea Anastagi, played by Mischa Barton, Virgin Territory
“There isn’t much going on under his pants. Funny, I’ve heard that he’s the biggest dick in town” Tindaro, played by Craig Parkinson, Virgin Territory.
I think this song is brilliant! I initially didn’t like it because I think the music video is rather cheesy but after hearing it time and time again on the radio, I must admit that its really grown on me. The lyrics really do spell out what it was like in my own ‘Teenage Love Affair(s).’ It takes me down my memory lane back into my school days when I was still dating. I have so many nostalgic memories - like the secret love letters stuffed into bags/notebooks/lockers, long phone conversations, paging romantic secret messages to each other, receiving flowers (roses!) from a secret admirer, dating near the staircase/canteen/classrooms/football pitch at school, dancing at proms, walking under the moonlight, going bowling, watching movies not to mention the casual flirting, coy glancing, soft embraces and the yearning kisses! Hee hee! I am really blushing remembering this (and biting my lower lip!). *swoon swoon*
I was talking to my Putih Pirate about this (hee hee yes Chris thats you!) and even he got the goosebumps reminiscing his first few ‘Teenage Love Affair(s)’ whilst listening (after I insisted) to it on his Ipod. We talked about our personal experiences … and agreed that although they were probably a whole age away, they will always be special memories to keep, no matter how good or bad they were. That song really does ring a sweet bell if you just sit back, listen to the lyrics and then let them take u back into that point in time …
Enjoy the song - and enjoy the trip down your own memory lane!
Cheers!

Teenage Love Affair - Alicia Keys
Can’t wait to get home
Baby dial your number
Can u pick up the phone
Cause I wanna holla
Daydreaming about you all day
In school can’t concentrate
Want have your voice in my ear
‘Till mama come and says its too late
Cause the lights are on outside
Wish there was somewhere to hide
Cause I just don’t want
to say goodbye
Cause you are my baby-baby
Nothing really matters
I don’t really care
What nobody tell me
I’m gonna be here
It’s a matter of extreme importance
My first teenage love affair
Another secret meeting
On the 5th floor stair case
I’m gonna give you this letter
Of all the things I can’t say
Want you to be my first
my last my ending and
beginning
I’ll write your name in my book
Your last name my first
I’m your Mrs.
Cause the lights are on outside
Wish there was somewhere to hide
Cause I just don’t want
to say goodbye
Cause you are my baby-baby
Nothing really matters
I don’t really care
What nobody tell me
I’m gonna be here
It’s a matter of extreme importance
My first teenage love affair
Hey boy,
You know I really like
being with u
Just hanging out is fun
So maybe we can go to
first base
Because I feel you
Second base
Want you to feel me too, boy
Third base
Better pump the brakes
Baby slow down
gotta go home now
Cause the lights are on outside
Wish there was somewhere to hide
Cause I just don’t want
to say goodbye
Cause you are my baby-baby
Nothing really matters
I don’t really care
What nobody tell me
I’m gonna be here
It’s a matter of extreme importance
my first teenage love affair
My baby-baby
Nothing really matters
I don’t really care
What nobody tell me
I’m gonna be here
It’s a matter of extreme importance
My first teenage love affair
I have caught the flu earlier this week and have a bad cold. Doctor says its not contagious (yet) but I may have a viral infection as my body temperature was ‘borderline’ high. I was given the day off work yesterday which I spent either watching movies or having the movies watch me (a.k.a. I dozed off). The medicine I was given is pretty strong - I have a non-drowsy one for day and a drowsy one for night; the night pill knocks me out pretty badly so I have to take it in the early evening so I can get more sleep (& a less ‘hangover effect’ the next morning). The best part about being sick is being able to catch up with my much needed sleep & rest as well as having others take care of you (like take yesterday - Mafioso brought me my favourite lamb soup for lunch that Boss made especially for me and a ’get well soon’ rose. Hehehhe thank-you sweetie :D). The worst part is coming back to reality with a blurred mind and a ton of work to catch up with. Or being at home worried about the ton of work awaiting me on my return or the overwhelming feeling of feeling sedated when at work (half here and half not). Hence here I am sitting at my desk waiting for work to pile up (still not sure whether I am needed today) and working with a half capacity brain (I’m still trying to pinch myself to wake up!). Life’s great eh?
